Slower meals for dogs and cats that eat too fast

Mealpace is about the pace of a meal. A slow feeder is a bowl, insert or puzzle with ridges, mazes or pockets that makes a pet eat in smaller bites, and the AKC lists slow-feed bowls as one way to slow down a fast eater. Not every dog needs one. If your dog eats at an easy pace, a regular bowl is fine. If yours finishes dinner in seconds, coughs or regurgitates afterward, or sprays kibble across the floor, a slow feeder is an easy thing to try, and your vet is the right person to ask if you are worried.
